House no. 839/9 on Wenceslas Square, Prague 1
The reconstruction plans for the house no. 839/9 on the Wenceslas Square in Prague suggested removing most of the original structure except for the street façade; the building was also deepened on the entire ground plan. Special foundation technologies were extensively used to secure the foundation pit walls as well as to build foundations for the future reinforced concrete structure of the building. The façade and the northern and southern sides of the foundation pit were secured with a wall made of jet grouted columns strengthened with steel pipes. Strutting was carried out with steel struts at two levels using intermediate steel barges from micropile quaternions. The jet grouted column wall on the eastern side was anchored. The jet grouted columns were further used to support the foundation slab in place of the future steel structure piers as well as in place of a temporary supporting structure for the street façade.
